Flood Family Meeting Recap June 2021

Church family,

It was great gathering with many of you on Tuesday night for our first in-person Flood Family Meeting since the pandemic! We have so much to be grateful for, and simply being able to be together is at the top of the list. Since we know some were not able to attend, we wanted to recap what was shared so we all can continue to support our community in prayer, giving and serving.

If you have any questions, please connect with me at [email protected]

The pandemic brought upon many necessary endings, felt not only at our church, but across the global Church. Our long season of ministry at Kearny High School came to an end. We have seen several staff transition off our team. We have seen several church members move on from our community. It has been challenging. Yet out of these endings, there are so many new beginnings as we rebuild towards an exciting season ahead. Some of which are listed below.

  • College Avenue Baptist Church graciously has allowed us to rent space for Sunday worship until our church home is completed. This church was vital to our beginning over 20 years ago and continues to be today! Learn more about our current Sunday gatherings here.
  • We are actively working to reopen our early childhood (infant-preschool) ministry on Sundays and hope to have dates to share soon.
  • We are actively searching for a new Youth Pastor to lead and shepherd our students towards Jesus. In the meantime, we are grateful for the ongoing leadership of Josiah Helton for Middle School and the interim leadership of Billy Walton in High School. Learn more about the job opening here.
  • We are rebuilding the teams that make the church the church, and invite your participation. We would love to see everyone serve at least once a month. Email one of the staff listed below to learn more.
  • And last, but not least, we are excited and hopeful to move into our brand new church home this fall! Our construction team is currently ahead of schedule and adjusted the date of completion to September 15. We hope to begin utilizing the space soon and celebrate a grand opening tentatively scheduled for October 24.

There is certainly a new chapter being written in our story as a church and we are grateful you are a part of it! We also shared some important updates regarding our General Fund and HOME Campaign (see below). We are thankful for the Lord’s provision through our community and encourage all to continue or begin giving at DIVEintoFLOOD.com/Give
