Since April 4, James Holzhauer has become a Jeopardy sensation and a household name. His strategy and seemingly bottomless wealth of knowledge is a thing of wonder – he’s like a human version of Wikipedia.
As a curator of trivial information, I love watching Jeopardy. Recently, however, I was talking with a friend about the very real but often elusive distinction between knowledge and wisdom. It’s quite possible for a person to possess massive amounts of knowledge, and lack the wisdom of when, how, and with whom they should share it.
Jesus knew this, and sought to cultivate disciples who led lives that demonstrated both wisdom and discerning. Indeed, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10)
Join us on Sunday as we learn how to employ discerning wisdom in our relationships.
