2013 Global Trip Opportunities

Are you interested in impacting the world in a unique and challenging way? Applications are now open for trips to Malawi, Uganda and Haiti in 2013. Adequate financial and cultural training will be provided for all applicants. All trips are hosted by Children of the Nations unless otherwise noted. Applications are due by February 24, 2013. MALAWI

Flood Malawi Intern Exchange Program
Description: A summer-long opportunity to experience ministry with Flood Malawi by reaching out to the young population of the rapidly growing capital city as well as facing the challenges of village life and ministry. As you work with their incredible staff, young leaders from Flood Malawi will intern here at Flood San Diego. Thus in partnership, as you raise money for your internship, you also contribute to a Malawian student’s trip.
Who should apply: Must be a student or recent graduate (18-24 years old) and able to remain a committed member of Flood San Diego the following year.

Flood Malawi College Conference Team
Description: In partnership with our sister church, Flood Malawi, and Flood College, you will help host a leadership conference for students. Our hope is that entire communities will be affected, as we impact Malawi’s future leaders with relevant gospel-inspired teaching.

Village Team
Description: You will support COTN as they seek to sponsor and care for children in area villages. You will be immersed in village life and minister to children through a variety of creative ways. As an added bonus, if you sponsor a child in the area, you will receive a unique opportunity to meet him/her. If you don’t have a sponsored child, you’ll have the opportunity to do so on this trip as well, though it is not a requirement to participate.

Children’s Ministry Team

Description: You will help host a VBS in the village of Chilombo for kids ages 3-18 and construct a new playground.

UGANDA

Internship Program 
Description: The 7-week internship is a hands-on, cultural immersion opportunity for students to serve from mid-June to early August. As an intern, you will work and interact daily in COTN villages with national staff, other interns, and children.
Who Should Apply: College students 18 to 24 years old, we are also looking for post-college team leaders.

Medical Team
Description: You will be doing medical check-ups for COTN children and help to organize and continue a newly initiated medical record system.  In addition medical check-ups, we are in need of a dentist to join this team.

HAITI

Family Friendly Trip
*We still need 6 people to join this team!*
Description: If you are a parent with children, this trip is for all of you! We will be hosting a vacation bible school for children in need. As an added bonus, if your family sponsors a child in Haiti, you will have a unique opportunity to meet him/her. Please note: If you haven’t yet sponsored a child in Haiti, you will receive an opportunity to do so, though it is not a requirement to participate. Also, while we would love both parents and children to participate, full family participation is not a requirement.

Men’s Construction Team
Description: This men’s team will work in Haitian villages to serve families as they rebuild and restore fallen buildings including churches, homes, and schools.
